COVID-19 UPDATE : 01.28.2021

COVID-19 VACCINE UPDATE from Dover Board of Health and Dover Council on Aging
The Commonwealth moves to Phase 2 of the Vaccination Plan on February 1. People ages 75 and older will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine beginning on Monday, February 1st, and starting on January 27 may register for a vaccine on the Commonwealth’s website at www.mass.gov/covid-19-vaccine. People ages 65 and older will be eligible for vaccines later in Phase 2. There is no charge for COVID vaccine, though health insurance may be billed.
Currently, there is a shortage of vaccines, the number of vaccination sites is limited, and the online appointment scheduling system is challenging to navigate. We hope that there will be significant progress with all three areas in the near future. Vaccine sites will be updating available appointments on the Commonwealth’s vaccination location webpage at http://www.mass.gov/covidvaccinemap. As additional sites are established, the map will be updated. Please be aware that it may take several weeks to get an appointment. There will be additional appointments added each week as more vaccine supply is received.
To schedule an appointment (all locations currently require appointments):
- Visit the webpage http://www.mass.gov/covidvaccinemap and scroll down to the map
- Click the icon in the top left with the arrow to view a list of locations
- Click on a map pin for hours, contact information, and sign up details
- Follow the steps requested by the vaccination site, this will include selecting the appointment time, entering the consumer information (including insurance information, if available) and answering screening questions
Council on Aging and Board of Health staff will be updated on alternative options to scheduling appointments online, including via phone; these options will be communicated when received. Family members are able to book appointments for someone eligible who needs assistance. If you need help with scheduling a vaccine appointment, please contact Dover COA at 508-315-5734 or coa@doverma.org
Thank you for your patience with this process. Please continue to follow the steps to stay safe: wear a mask, wash your hands often, maintain physical distance, and avoid indoor settings with people who aren’t members of your immediate household. We are here for you and welcome your calls and emails. Please be patient as it may take longer than usual for us to respond.
