Website Coordinator/IT Support

The Website Coordinator/IT support person reports to the Assistant Town Administrator who reports to the Town Administrator who reports to the Board of Selectmen. The Website Coordinator/IT support person provides support to the town’s computer network and website. Web/IT manages all aspects of the town’s Wide Area Network, consisting of 60+ workstations across 3 physical locations utilizing Microsoft Server 2003 and 2008. Web/IT provides a wide array of IT support including troubleshooting email, software, hardware and printer issues, recovering systems from crashes, installing operating systems and application and training end-users on system functionality. Web/IT secures information and ensures the systems are free from viruses, worms, and trojans by configuring multiple layers of anti-virus and firewall protection. Symantec Backup Exec. is utilized for data restoration. Web/IT researches, procures and installs computer hardware including computers, tape drives, memory, keyboards, mice, monitors, printers, routers and firewalls while insuring compatibility. Web/IT designs and maintains a fully functioning web site and serves as web developer by managing all aspects of the site’s operations such as ensuring usability, user experience and menu taxonomy.
