Household Hazardous Waste

Dover collaborates with nine other local communities to facilitate for the safe and sustainable disposal of household hazardous waste. Each town has certain days designated when residents can bring in household hazardous waste items for disposal. Dover residents must get an authorization slip in advance from the Dover Town Garage to gain access a particular town facility and to dispose of their household hazardous waste.

Household Hazardous Waste

While each town has slightly different restrictions, household hazardous waste typically fall into five categories: automotive, cleaning and polishing, paint and related solvents, pesticides, and miscellaneous items (examples include batteries, fingernail polish remover, some cosmetics, and shoe polish). Dover Residents are advised to check the particular town website listed below to check if a hazardous waste collection has been scheduled.
