How do I get my smoke detectors inspected?
Fill out an application at the Town Treasurer’s office. A $40 fee is required.
How many smoke detectors do I need in my home?
It depends on the size of the house. To request locations please contact the fire department at 508-785-1130 Ext. 225. It is recommended to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors when you change your clocks twice a year.
Does the Fire Department operate an ambulance service?
Yes. It operates a BLS (Basic Life Support) ambulance, with ALS (Advanced Life Support) paramedics provided by mutual aid fire departments or private ambulance service.
Can I burn my brush?
Yes, with a permit during burning season, (Jan 15th – May 1). Call the Dover Police/Fire Communication Center for a permit at 508-785-1130 on the morning of the day you wish to burn.
Can I burn my leaves & old building material?
No, only brush can be burned.
Why do we need such large fire trucks?
We must carry the water needed to suppress a fire.
